The longtime Oswegoland Park District employee started in his new position on Jan. 5.

A fire alarm was activated around 10:38 a.m. at Yorkville Middle School triggered by the steam from the ruptured pipe. Students evacuated the building immediately, according to Yorkville School District 115.

Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis has filed a motion to disqualify Daniel Transier from serving as the defense attorney for former Oswegoland Park District executive director Tom Betsinger because of his potential conflicts as a Yorkville City Council alderman.

The recommendation is to have his license suspended for three years, starting Feb. 5 and ending Feb. 4, 2029. The termination date is subject to modification by the Supreme Court.

With $40,000 coming towards the pockets of the Whispering Meadows Homeowners Association for reimbursed maintenance costs, a 20-year ordeal in Yorkville is coming to a close. Overall, the city has received $1.56 million in settlements from the developers.
