Franklin County Technical School Welding & Metal Fabrication student Levi Clark competed at the national SkillsUSA competition, with his sculpture "Man's Best Friend" winning first place at the state-level competition in May and placing in the top 20 at the national competition.

Silver Lake Park hosts educational and outdoor activities on June 27

The Our Waters event will return to Silver Lake Park on June 27, featuring outdoor activities, demonstrations and educational programs. The event will include a guided bird walk, fishing activities, tree-coring demonstration, pickleball clinic, scavenger hunts, and a search-and-rescue dog demonstration. New offerings include fitness station demonstrations and a water rescue demonstration.
