State liquor authorities in 2020 cited “serious and persistent problems” with behavior at Taylor’s Bar & Grill in revoking its license. It is estimated that Eugene needs an additional 26,000 new homes by the mid-2040s, most especially affordable homes. Luckily, Floral Hill Terrace plans to build 40 affordable housing units in the Laurel Hill neighborhood, some priced as low as $199,000. The only problem? Organized opposition by a subcommittee of the neighborhood association Laurel Hill Valley Citizens. None of the reasons they have stated are obstacles that the developers aren’t already addressing, such as street design or the location near a steep dense woods.
