Skelton triple homicide preliminary exam reveals suicide attempt, home destruction

The preliminary examination for John Russel Skelton began Monday morning, Aug. 24, 2026, before Lenawee County District Judge Laura Schaedler. Skelton is charged with three counts each of open murder and tampering with evidence for the disappearance of his three sons Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton who were last seen with their father on Thanksgiving 2010.
