The City Council has authorized Mayor Dale Girard to sign a contract with the professional recruiting firm, Municipal Resources Inc., to find a new city manager and an interim manager, rather than conduct the hiring process in-house.

Scott issues executive order that would allow age-based health insurance premiums

Gov. Phil Scott issued an executive order to reduce health insurance regulations and lower costs, including implementing age-based insurance premiums, which will allow insurers to adjust rates based on a person's age and tobacco use.

NH child advocate exiting role July 24

Cassandra Sanchez will be leaving her role as New Hampshire's Child Advocate on July 24 due to a state law prohibiting her from serving in holdover status for longer than six months. Assistant Child Advocate Jason Taylor is expected to take on the interim role.

Tulloch to be resentenced for Zantop murders

Robert Tulloch, who was convicted of murdering two Dartmouth professors as a teenager, will have a new sentencing hearing in a three-day hearing that begins Monday in Haverhill. Tulloch's defense attorneys will argue for a 30 to 40 year minimum sentence in lieu of the mandatory life without parole sentence he is currently serving.
