Judge cites limited psychiatric hospital admissions in dismissing Eugene bank theft case

The defendant has been found psychologically unfit to proceed with the case against him. A state judge found that, due to a federal court order, the defendant could not be sent to Oregon State Hospital for treatment.

Behavioral health campus is an economic development project. Springfield should treat it like one.

Springfield's councilors have a hard job, and the land-use questions are theirs to weigh. I hope that as they weigh them, they count what this campus would bring: hundreds of well-paid jobs, tens of millions of dollars a year in local economic activity, and care our neighbors need.
