Lane County commissioners face decision with McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center 

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center wants nonprofit status and the county’s blessings so it can save money through tax-exempt bonds to restructure companywide debt. The deal also would help pay for a proposed emergency department in west Eugene, proponents say. For now, Lane County commissioners are pressing for more information before making a decision.
