A deputy sustained a major cut Friday, July 31, after responding to a reported assault of a convenience store employee by a man who allegedly then left and menaced others in Glenwood, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Fire near Goshen burns close to homes

A nearly 4-acre fire broke out near Goshen Friday afternoon, prompting a mutual-aid response from several fire agencies. Crews knocked it down within about an hour, but they plan to monitor for hot spots throughout the evening.
